So I feel like this year I needed to make a post about The Oscar’s, because Leonardo DiCaprio FINALLY won one. Yes. All good things come in time. His speech though.

On to the makeup trends we saw this year on the red carpet!

This year we saw a lot of sexy sultry, neutral eyes and a combination of bright and nude lips. The skin was left looking quite sun-kissed and luminous and there appeared to be a lot of peachy, coral tones on the cheeks. I barely saw a bold winged liner, instead the lash line was defined through the use of shadows and pencils, smudged to look more sultry. Everyone just looked fresh, timeless and tasteful with their makeup, definitely nothing over the top.

Favourite look of the night?

I would have to say my favourite look was definitely Rooney Mara, but i have to say, Lady Gaga came very close. Rooney just looked so polished and absolutely flawless. The colour theory for her makeup definitely brought out her best features and made her eyes pop, Kate Lee killed it with this one. Slay gurrrrl slaaay!
